Experience the magic of Costa Rica while helping its feathered, furry and scaly residents. Volunteers stay on-site and spend most of their session in the animal hospital caring for sick and juvenile animals with the full-time vet, but also have an opportunity to assist with husbandry tasks for a wide variety of exotic species in the center.
Explore all major fields of veterinary medicine and experience South Africa like never before. Interns can expect to work hands-on with animals under veterinary supervision with supporting lectures from vets in each field. Choose a comprehensive 4-week session or design your own session.
This rescue center is dedicated to the treatment and protection of exotic animals indigenous to the tropical paradise that is Costa Rica. Working alongside an experienced wildlife vet, volunteers are responsible for basic medical and day-to-day care of the resident animals, with the aim of releasing them back to their natural habitat whenever possible.
This internship was specifically designed to provide clinical experience to final year vet students. The knowledge and practical skills gained through lectures and casework will support the transition from student to qualified professional in small animal, farm animal, equine and wildlife medicine.
